I’ve been talking about doing a naming contest for this polish for a little while now. I’m not really good at naming my polishes, especially if I made them without an inspiration. So I’ve made a rafflecopter to collect all your awesome name ideas! Just click the link below or visit my facebook page to get the the rafflecopter app. I will personally look through all of the entries and pick which name I think suits the polish best. You must like my facebook page to be able to enter and you can also tweet about the contest. The points will not be how you win, but doing the extra steps will help me to get the word out so I can continue doing what I do!
I’ve been drooling over a few of the Rainbow Honey polishes for a while now. When The Final Battle collection came out I knew I would have some of those in my possession at some point. I was finally able to get a few when I saw somebody’s destash with a ton of RH polishes!
The first one I tried out was Ultimate Weapon, a dark purple with blue shimmer. It’s the one I wanted the most, and I was not disappointed. The color is so gorgeous and the formula went on nice and smooth in two coats.
Next was Emerald Weapon, a green with blue and green shimmer. I really love how greens and teals work with my skin tone. This one has a lovely shimmer to it, and again, a great formula.
Sapphire Weapon is a dark blue with green and gold shimmer. This one is nice, but I think it’s my least favorite of the three.
I also got another polish that’s not part of the same collection. It’s called Your Hand In Mine. This one is a sheer aqua polish with different colored shimmer in it. You can wear it on it’s own in a few coats, or over another color as a topper. The top photos are the polish on it’s own and over black as an accent. The bottom photos are over Sapphire Weapon and Emerald Weapon. I really love this one and I’m sure I’ll use it a lot.
Overall these are all great polishes. The formulas are awesome, they were opaque in a couple coats with no streaking. The only problem I did have was that the polish would start peeling after less than a day. I tried one with a base and top coat, one with just a base coat, and one with no base or top coat. They all did the same thing. I’m not sure if it was partially because of my nails, but I do usually get chipping rather than peeling. I am looking into getting a new top coat soon, so hopefully that will help out for all my polishes. You can find all of these polishes and so many more at http://www.rainbowhoney.com/ for $10 each.
I’ve got another Zoya announcement for you today! There will be 3 new magical pixiedust polishes coming out! Pre-order begins 4/17 (possibly the 15th). The magical pixies are the same sparkly textured polishes as the originals, but with larger holographic glitter in them as well. I’m not sure if I’ll be getting these or not, but I do think the colors are very nice.
I’ve been working on this collection for a while now. Formulating, reformulating, ordering more glitter. So now I am finally able to introduce you to the Assemble! collection. This collection of 6 polishes is based off of the Avengers (the team you’ll see in the newer movies, because there are a bunch of Avengers all together). Some of these polishes may stain because of the intense pigment, especially the blue, so please use a base coat (maybe even two coats of it). These will be released May 1st. You can purchase full sized individually or as a collection, and minis as a collection only. All the photos below are 2 or 3 coats of polish with no top coat. A top coat will definitely make these look more jelly-like.
The Scientist – a green jelly with matte neon green and purple glitters. Based on the Hulk.
The Operative – A black jelly with red-gold shimmer and metallic blue and matte red glitters. Based on Black Widow.
The Soldier – A blue jelly with matte red slices and silver glitter. Based on Captain America.
The Archer – A purple jelly with matte black slices and diamonds and green-blue-purple shifting glitter. Based on Hawkeye.
The God – A black jelly with gunmetal shimmer, gold shreds, and red and blue glitters. Based on Thor.
The Mechanic – A red jelly with red-gold shimmer and gold holo glitters. Based on Iron Man.
I was sooo excited to get an email recently from Zoya about their new summer collections. They had posted a sneak peek of some shades on their facebook page and I loved all the bright colors. The Tickled collection is 6 super bright cremes. I think I’m most excited for Ling and Wendy, but I really want all of them! The Bubbly collection is 6 bright glitter jellies and they are gorgeous!! The glitters are shimmery and holographic, I really want Alma and Binx the most, but again, these may all end up in my collection. These two collections will be available May 15th, so mark your calenders! And look out for another Zoya post coming Thursday!
