I’m back with another color challenge today! This time around is red and gold, only three more to go now! I’m very excited about doing the next few.
I used two coats of Zoya Livingston as a base and I sponged on Marbles For Polish Golden Daze as a glitter gradient. Golden Daze is one of my newly released glitters than can be worn on it’s own or as a glitter topper. You can find it along with another ten new polishes in my etsy shop!
Here are a couple photos with flash to show the gold holo micro glitter in Golden Daze. I love how sparkly it is!
How do you guys like this one? I’m still obsessed with all things holo since it’s been so sunny lately, so Golden Daze and my other glitter toppers really satisfy my craving for rainbow bling. And don’t forget that if you have a red and gold mani, or any of the other color combos I’ve posted do far, go check out my facebook page and comment with your pictures on each post.
Hey, long time, no see! Sorry for being absent here for a bit, but if you’d like to stay updated in other ways I do post on facebook and instagram. I should have a bunch of posts coming up this next month because I’ll be doing a nail art challenge using this color pairing chart. Pedis aren’t necessary, I’m doing it all on my finger nails.
If you would like to join me I’ll be doing them in order starting on August 7th and then posting every Monday and Friday in August until I’ve finished. You can post yours to any social media, but I encourage you to post your pictures in the comments when I post each blog entry on facebook so everybody can see them in one place.
And now on to the actual mani the post is about! I used two coats of Zoya Jules which is a beautiful shimmery taupe polish. I sponged on one of my upcoming Marbles For Polish glitters, Lady Charms. This glitter topper is similar to China Glaze Fairy Dust and Golden Enchantment because it’s both a gold and silver micro glitter.
This mani really reminds me of a bubbly champagne. I think I would wear this again to a classy event because it’s neutral but a little bit jazzed up. Are you guys excited about the new polishes I have coming out? If you haven’t seen them yet check out my instagram for some sneak peeks and look out for all of them early to mid August.
Hello everyone! Before I get started with my nails I’d like to wish a very happy birthday to my little girl Andraia (Andi). She’s 3 today, I can barely believe it!
Now who’s seen the new Avengers movie? My husband and I saw it on the 1st and really liked it. I still think the first Avengers was a little better but all the Marvel movies are awesome. Iron Man has probably always been my favorite Avenger, Robert Downey Jr is absolutely perfect for that roll and just makes me love Iron Man even more. So I decided to do some Iron Man nail art the other day.
On my middle finger and thumb I did 3 coats of The Mechanic by Marbles For Polish. On my pinkie I used just one coat of Zoya Alix. For my index and ring fingers I started with a base of Zoya Brooklyn and topped it with Kerry. For the details on my ring finger I painted on Alix, Willa, and Purity with a thin nail art brush. I top coated everything and there you have it!
Who is your favorite Avenger if you’re into the movies and/or comics? Would you like to see me try to represent more Marvel characters? I’ve been meaning to do Spiderman nail art lately, maybe that one will be next.
Happy Monday everybody! My apologies for not posting any nail art in a while, I’ve been sitting on today’s mani for a while now and just haven’t had the chance to post it. I have a couple others lined up as well so hopefully there will be one a week this month.
For this mani I started with a base of Zoya Neve. I was originally going to use striping tape to mark off where the triangles on each nail should be but it was giving me trouble with the chunkiness of Essie On a Silver Platter. I used a thin nail art brush to draw the triangles and fill them in. I topped the whole thing off with a top coat and that’s that!
I think this mani is simple but sophisticated. It would look really good with red and gold too. I’m so glad I finally got myself On a Silver Platter, it’s so shiny! And while you’re here, don’t forget today is the last day to pre-order the Sweet Tooth sets in full sized or mini at a discounted price!
Head over to my Etsy shop to get yours! After today you can get each full sized polish for $10 plus shipping.
Hey everybody, I’ve got a brand new polish brand to show you today! The brand is called The Pachyderm Polish and so far from what I’ve seen this brand is going to go far. The creator, Cristie, sent me an unnamed flakie topper and I love it!
I tried it over a black holo first. It really adds a cool effect to the black. It’s a little colorful but still very dark. This is one coat plus a top coat.
Then I put it over a white holo and it really popped! Over the white you can really see the multichrome aspect of the flakies better. They have a purple/green shift. This is one coat with top coat again.
The formula is nice and smooth and easy to remove as well. The dry time was a little longer than I’m used to with some indies, but still very quick for polish in general. The wear time was really good for me as well. I’ve already used this polish more than once and I’m really looking forward to seeing what else The Polished Pachyderm has to show.
Hey everybody! I’m really excited to share this mani with you today. I’ve gotten a lot of new Zoya shades recently, and of course I’ve had to use a bunch of them. The Ignite collection are all beautiful fall shimmers that work very well together. For this mani I used India, Sansa, and Remy. I started with a normal base coat and sponged on the three colors together with a makeup sponge. Sometimes gradients require another base color, but these polishes are so well pigmented that I was able to get it opaque in a few coats and no colored base. Sponging goes on much thinner than just painting so a few coats is still fairly thin on the nail. I put a top coat on it and then took my pictures….
And then I did this! I added Fresh Paint Sugar Crush, which I feel really made it pop and look more like an “ignite” mani. This is one looks so gorgeous in person too! Sugar crush is definitely one of my favorite toppers because it looks good over pretty much any polish and you don’t need more than one coat to get a bunch of flakies on the nail.
Which version do you like better, with or without Sugar Crush? I’m really liking the mani with it!
Good evening everybody! As Halloween nears I’m sure a lot of you are looking for some good collections to get in the spirit. There’s a super awesome surprise coming very soon from me and another indie brand, but this collection from Anne Kathleen is another amazing choice. You may notice some of the polishes got a little bubbly, but that is completely my fault. I did slightly thicker coats with some of them and didn’t really wait long enough between drying. Anne Kathleen polishes are amazing quality and when applied properly will be beautifully smooth. I also did not use a top coat on any of these.
First from Pumpkin Smashing Not Advised is Blair, a pale yellow creme. This is pretty much a pastel neon yellow and it’s so cool! This polish will be perfect for both Halloween and can be used for spring or summer too. I did 3 coats because Blair is a bit streaky at first, but you can see it smoothed out nicely.
Next is Tabitha, a peachy-orange creme. This is another great polish for multiple seasons. I also did 3 coats for the same reason, it starts a bit streaky but after 2 or 3 coats the coverage is great.
One of my favorites from this collection is Autumn, a darker orange with scattered holographic sparkle. With the flash (bottom two pictures) this polish almost had linear holo. This one is a bit jelly-like but got full coverage in 2 coats. I don’t usually go for warmer colors alone on my nails, but since this orange is a bit darker it looks pretty nice.
And last of the colored polishes is Morticia, a black with strong holographic sparkle. This polish went on with 1 thicker coat, but I would recommend 2 thin ones for best results. This is a pretty amazing black polish. It looks so sleek on it’s own but with the flash (bottom two pictures) it has such a gorgeous rainbow!
And the glitter topper from this collection is called Carrie, it’s has fine black and orange matte glitter and black holographic stars. There is plenty of the fine black and orange glitter but I did have to fish around for the stars a bit. Though I would also be perfectly happy without the stars too, so that’s not of an issue. I tried Carrie over each of the other polishes from this collection. Only 1 coat is needed to get really good coverage.
Which of these polishes is your favorite? I’m definitely partial to both the holos! Pumpkin Smashing Not Advised will release on 10/5 and all of these polishes will be available throughout the year as well at http://annekathleen.com/.
